We recently began an exciting rebranding project with Leadership Greater Hartford (LGH), a nonprofit training consultancy. We'll be working closely with their team in the coming months to revise the organization's look and messaging. LGH provides leadership training to individuals ranging from high school students to retirees, with community service projects featured in most programs.
We often work with clients who are concerned that if they don't get all of their homepage content at the top of the page, their users won't know to scroll down to find it. Despite our continual reassurances that users know to scroll (and that there are some fairly easy ways to further encourage scrolling), there remains an insitence to keep everything "above the fold." But they don't have to take our word for it. There's research to show that cramming everything above the fold is unnecessary and, at times, counterproductive.
